What we charge
Our initial Service Call to site for minor plumbing maintenance is $224.25 including GST. That covers the first hour, local travel and minor sundries. After the first hour it's $120.75 an hour, charged in half-hour blocks. Any materials used are additional to the Service Call and the hourly rate. Rates on this page are current as of October 2026.
What the Service Call covers
The $224.25 Service Call is for minor plumbing maintenance. It buys you the first hour on site, local travel across Napier, Hastings, Havelock North and the surrounding areas, and minor sundries such as tape, sealant and fixings. After that first hour we charge $120.75 an hour in half-hour blocks.
What is charged on top
Materials are not included. Anything we fit or supply, from a tap washer to a cylinder, is charged in addition to the Service Call and the hourly rate. Specialist equipment is also priced separately, including jetting, CCTV drain inspection and fault locating, drainage work and backflow work. Blocked drain work is charged at its own rate, not the maintenance rate.
When we quote instead
Normal maintenance and service work goes ahead at the published rate. Larger jobs and projects get a site assessment and a quote before anything starts. For renovations, new builds and commercial work we're happy to price and quote straight from the plans, so send them through.
After hours, weekends and public holidays
After hours, at weekends and on public holidays, general plumbing is $454.25 including GST for the first hour and $241.50 an hour after that. Drainage work, whether that is jetting, a camera inspection or both, is $690 for the first hour and $345 an hour after that. A blocked drain after hours is always treated as an emergency, so it is charged at the drainage rate. Materials are additional, as they are during the day.

The Service Call charge is already in the figure, not added again. Where several jobs are done in the same visit, we apply one Service Call charge, then additional labour and materials as required.

What pushes a job above the range is usually awkward access, a fitting that turns out not to be standard, or something we find once it is apart. If that happens you get a phone call before we carry on, not a surprise on the invoice. Leak investigations and hot water fault diagnosis start at the $224.25 Service Call including the first hour, with further time charged in half-hour blocks and parts, specialist equipment and repairs additional.

Not every job is a maintenance call. These are our own rates, not a general market guide.
Drain jetting, camera inspection and locating
In normal hours: high pressure jetting $345 including GST, CCTV drain camera inspection $345, camera inspection with sonde locating $373.75, and jetting, camera and locating together $402.50. Each of those includes the first hour on site, and additional time is $241.50 an hour. A brief written findings report is $120.75 on top, and a detailed, insurance or pre-purchase report is quoted to suit the scope. A blocked drain call is charged at the jetting rate whatever we find when we get there, so it is not the maintenance Service Call rate.
Materials
Materials are always additional. Nothing we supply or fit is included in the Service Call or the hourly rate, and they appear as separate lines on your invoice so you can see exactly what went into the job.
Backflow testing and certification
Annual testing is priced per device, so it depends how many devices you have and what type they are. Tell us what is on site and we will give you a price for the test and the Form 12A certificate. Any repairs are quoted once we know what the device needs.
Why we don't quote over the phone
Because the answer would be wrong. For anything beyond routine maintenance we'd rather look at it, or price it from your plans, than give you a number that changes once we're on site.
