About Bay Plumbing Services
Hi there, I'm Russ. I'm a Certifying Plumber and Certifying Drainlayer, first registered as a Drainlayer in 1992, and I've run Bay Plumbing Services since 2002. We work across Napier, Hastings, Havelock North and the surrounding areas.
What we're registered for
Certifying Plumber and Certifying Drainlayer. Registered Independent Qualified Person (IQP) for backflow, which covers inspection, testing and Form 12A certification for applicable BWoF systems. Certified in Advanced Enviro-Septic for on-site wastewater.
Plumbing and drainlaying are separate registrations in New Zealand and plenty of tradespeople hold one without the other. Holding both means the plumbing and the drainage on a job are covered by the same person, so nothing falls between two trades and there is one person answerable for the lot.
The Master Plumbers Guarantee
We've been Master Plumbers members for more than 10 years. On residential work that means you have the backing of the 12-month Master Plumbers Guarantee of up to $20,000 including GST. Conditions apply and the guarantee is administered by Master Plumbers, not by us.
It protects you in the unlikely event of substandard workmanship, and it covers loss of an advance payment if a contractor goes into liquidation or bankruptcy. In practice it means you are not relying only on the word of the person who did the work, which is worth having when you are handing over money for something behind a wall.
If you're ever unhappy with a job, an invoice or a charge, the first step is to ring us and say so. Give us five working days to put it right. That's how the Master Plumbers process works and it's how we'd want to handle it anyway.
